Growing up in a modest family environment in Bosnia, Dax’s early years were marked by hard work and resilience. Her father was a coal miner, and her mother worked as a shepherdess, enduring the hardships of a challenging life. Despite these challenges, Dax’s parents instilled in her a strong work ethic and a relentless thirst for knowledge. “What I inherited from my parents was a strong work ethic and an unwavering drive to learn,” Dax reflects. These values, alongside a deep inner conviction, laid the foundation for her eventual success.
Her academic journey began with a natural aptitude for learning, but it was during her A-levels that she truly found her calling. Dax’s economics teacher, a former RAF pilot and Cambridge alumnus, became a pivotal figure in her life. Encouraged by him to apply to Cambridge University, she embarked on rigorous preparations for the entrance interview, despite being unfamiliar with the institution. Her hard work paid off, and she became one of only two students from her local state school to attend Cambridge, marking a transformative milestone in her life.
Throughout her career, Dax has been shaped by several key mentors, such as Tom Blomfield, former CEO of Monzo; Dan Schulman, CEO of PayPal; and Sir Terry Leahy, former CEO of Tesco. Their guidance and wisdom have enriched her leadership approach, helping her navigate the complexities of today’s business world. A defining moment in her career came when Antony Jenkins, former CEO of Barclays, personally sponsored her MBA dissertation. At the time, Dax was balancing a new leadership role with the challenges of motherhood. This experience reinforced her belief in the value of mentorship and the importance of embracing both professional and personal growth.
Dax’s commitment to making a meaningful impact on society led her to accept a position as Director of Operations at Macmillan Cancer Support, which aligned with her desire to help others. This decision was prompted by a simple yet profound question from her young son: “How can we help the helpless people in our community?” Today, as CEO of Global Transform, Dax continues to integrate these experiences into her leadership style, focusing on empowering others and making a positive societal impact.

She finds joy in the small moments, like homeschooling her son during the pandemic while managing global responsibilities.
